Top 5 worst signings of the 2014/15 season

With the end of a season comes the time of doing some balance and seeing how everybody performed, some teams spent a lot of money in players without receiving the quality and goals they were expecting. So lets se who are the top 5 players that rank the worst in terms of value for money...

5. Ciro Immobile

With Robert Lewandowski leaving to league rivals Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund had to think of a replacement for the Polish striker, and who would be a better candidate that the current Serie A top scorer, Ciro Immobile. But after only scoring 3 goals in Bundesliga and being in a goal draught of almost 5 months it is evident that everybody was expecting more from him.

4. Lukas Podolski

Thanks god it was only a loan its a thing that Inter Milan directors could be thinking after his 6 months loan spell with the nerazurri. The german striker has only contributed with a goal and an assist this season and has falled in Mancini´s pecking order, It is known that Podolski cant wait to return to Arsenal, and the reasons are quite clear.

3. Mario Balotelli

Why always me?

Its another year without any positive highlights in the life of Mario Balotelli, the Italian striker was a big gamble by Liverpool and as many expected it didnt pay off. The former Manchester City player has only scored a goal in Premier League in 960 minutes played.

2. Alessio Cerci

The 27-year-old failed to establish himself as an important player for Atletico Madrid; "Los Colchoneros" may highly regret paying 16 million for the Italian playmaker who just played 156 minutes, yes 156! in 6 months for them. A move to another club was logical and Cerci decided to go back to Italy but even in his home country he has lacked the excellent form he had while playing for Torino a season ago. Because being a flop in just one club is too mainstream.

1. Angel Di Maria

Manchester United were trying to make an impact on the league after a very poor season, and which way was better than signing Angel Di Maria for the Premier League record transfer fee. The Argentinian had good games at the start of the season but currently he is sitting on the bench of Old Trafford and could be on his way out of the team.
