Transfer Ratings #2 Cech, Imbula, Costa

9:53

Petr Cech. Chelsea-Arsenal

Why to buy him: Difficult question to answer as Arsenal had a great keeper with plenty of years to play with David Ospina, but Petr Cech brings important experience to an Arsenal side that is filling the team with the pieces that are missing to win a Premier League title.

Why to sell him: Cech wasnt willing to sit on the bench for the rest of his career, and Chelsea gave priority to their future giving the number one spot to Courtois.

Is the price right: Arsenal paid 11 million pounds for Cech which is the right price for a World Class goalkeeper that would have 3 or 4 seasons of good football

Transfer Grade: 7/10 They upgrade the position but it isnt a long term solution

Gianelli Imbula. Marseille-FC Porto

Why to buy him: Casemiro is heading back to Real Madrid so Porto was in the need of a back up in that position.

Why to sell him: Marseille is currently facing a really strange situation, they have already sold the likes of Gignac, Ayew and Payet. The club is currently training without their coach Marcelo Bielsa, who knows what would happen in the rest of this transfer market in southern France.

Is the price right: With his arrival to Portugal, Imbula becomes the most expensive transfer in Liga Portuguesa history (20 million Euros). But with his talent and Porto´s hability to create superstars they will sell him for a fortune in a couple of years.

Transfer Grade: 9/10 Great young player for a decent price.

Douglas Costa. Shakhtar Donetsk-Bayern Munich

Why to buy him: Ribery has been carrying an ankle injury for some months now and there is no clue of when he would be able to play again, so Bayern needed someone to fill the position, if Costa was the right option, I dont think so.

Why to sell him: It was a lot of money to reject for Shakhtar, and it was inevitable that with the likes of Bayern wanting him, Douglas was more than willing to leave Ukraine.

Is the price right: 35 million euros, This is more money than what Bayern has paid in the past for world class players like Ribery and Robben, and he isnt a prospect, Douglas is already 25 years old. Big gamble for Bayern Munich

Transfer Grade: 5/10 Bayern Munich overpaid for a player that lacks of experience and that would be a downgrade of what they already have
